Fake contractor suspected for fraud

Although building repair and interior designs are two different things, but can also relate to the work of interior design. Since there are some interior companies out on the market today which will hire outside contractors and usually the quality will not be as good. Therefore, please be aware of the following points when selecting interior design companies.

A contractor company is suspected of inserting metal fences into the outside walls of the building to make it appear like there is metal damage in order to receive an addition of $54,000 construction fee.

Points to be caution:

  1. Before renovation, allow a recommendation from a friend. However, even if its a friend's recommendation, an actual visit to the company to understand how the company works and its management. Usually a large-scale company has a better reputation and quality is guaranteed.
  2. Before signing a contract, make sure to understand all the terms to prevent any future disagreements.
  3. For personal benefit, each construction work must be clearly listed.
  4. Supervise during construction work. If there is a problem, it can be discovered early
  5. If necessary, allow the claims adjuster to help as they will claim what is right for the client.
  6. Again, if necessary, seek legal help for assistance.
  7. Avoid employing self-employed contractor as they might not be large scaled thus little protection for clients. Moreover, as they will hire outside companies, it is hard to deem who is responsible when a problem does happen.
  8. We recommend finding a company that will provide warranty service. The longer the warranty the better because it represents the quality is excellent and that clients have maximal protection.
