【警惕(DIC非涉事方;謹作資料報道參考)鳴謝及分享轉載自香港01|裝修黑店有前員工踢爆黑心裝修公司 天價工程質素參差】
According to a report by Hong Kong 01, a netizen recently exposed in the Facebook group "Unscrupulous Renovations - News Release Group," stating that a former employer's renovation company would charge "exorbitant" prices for projects, then subcontract them to inexperienced "masters" at low prices, resulting in highly varying quality of work. Customers often had to compromise due to rushed completion times. Several former employees were also owed over 10 months' salary. They decided to expose their former employer's wrongdoing in hopes of warning potential customers and avoiding unscrupulous renovation companies.
The "expose post" mentioned that a customer had spent nearly HKD 600,000 on a renovation, but the results did not meet expectations. The kitchen cabinet materials were poorly selected, the cabinet panels were uneven, and the cutting positions of the cabinet throat pipes were highly variable. The customer even had disputes with the renovation company, which is a common occurrence. In addition, former employees also posted multiple pictures of ongoing renovation projects, accusing the company's owner of not supervising the process, resulting in subcontractors cutting corners and using inferior materials.
Design Information Centre would like to remind everyone the following items
- Don’t choose discreditable companies because of low prices to avoid unnecessary loss.
- Before choosing a renovation company, one should realize the structure and ability of a company, for example if the company provides regular staff training, the resume and the strength of designers and how professional are the renovation workers, and employ a large-scaled, well known and experienced company. Also, companies should be accredited the ISO International Certification, and have to be strictly examined by banks which offering interest-free instalment will be preferable and more reliable.
- Before the commencement of the project, you must understand the contract details and service commitments. Have a clear and detailed agreement, list the engineering projects and total expenditures, payment methods and processes, and sign the agreement after both parties have fully agreed upon the terms.
- During the fitting out, additional items should commence upon an agreement of additional items is signed by mutual consent, contents and prices are agreed by both parties.
Design Information Centre has been registered as a minor works contractor ‘Smart Will Engineering Limited’ (Buildings Department registration no.: MWC 4320/2011) to carry out related construction and minor works. To avoid misunderstandings or conflicts between different parties, remember to inquire clearly before fitting out.
