Loosen Triangle Bracket Results in An Accidental Fall

Few days ago, a construction site worker was demolishing and clearing a aluminum window on the fifth floor of the construction site when a triangle bracket went loose. The construction site workers lose balance and accidentally fall down from the high building and hit a female passerby. Both of them are severely injured in their heads and cervical vertebrae, leaving them in a critical condition. Design Information Center is here to remind everyone to be careful when selecting their renovation company and pay extra attention to occupational safety.
Precaution:

  1. While selecting your renovation company, make sure that the company has purchased the labor insurance for their renovation workers.
  2. While working at height, the renovation workers should always put on their safety harness that connects to a proper and firm object at all time.
  3. While executing a construction project, all masters and workers on site should strictly abide by the construction guidelines to ensure personal safety and personal equity.
  4. Before starting a construction project, the renovation company should always perform risk assessment.
  5. While selecting a renovation company, make sure to evaluate the company’s overall structures and capabilities, including the company’s regular staff training programs, designer’s backgrounds & specialties, master’s renovation proficiency, company’s customer scale, company’s popularity and company’s experience. In addition, make sure that the company has received international certification such as ISO certification or bank’s trust that provides customer with a installment plan without the need for interest payment.
  6. If the property owner accidentally hires an unregistered contractor to execute the renovation project as specified in Article 126 "Supervision Policy for Small-scale Construction Project", the insurance company may choose not to be liable for all the losses and damages incurred by the property owner since the property owner has already breached the rules in the first place. Hence, always make sure to select a registered contractor for your construction project.
