既然戶的要求清晰明確，加上單位擁有足夠空間，設計師要滿足戶主需求，一點都不難。而且，單位的佈局劃一，三層面積大致相同，一條螺旋形樓梯貫穿整棟樓房，為設計師省卻不少功夫。

全屋的牆紙、家具及布料都相互協調，透出歐式設計的深沉穩重，與點點田園味相結合，叫人份外閑適。三層空間各自發揮其作用，地下分成客飯廳及廚房，連接戶外花園，屋內的陳設使你不會感到紛亂繁雜。一樓是岳母的天地，最高層的就是戶主的世界。

有些人不愛修飾家中花園，任它隨意發展，但這裡的花園，是戶主一家的心臟地帶，在此感受天人合一的自在。只要天氣許可，他們都會在花園用餐，飯廳只有吃早餐的功用，因此從來沒有人介意飯廳只有小小的一角。

主人房有一個戶外浴室，是戶主愛好大自然的又一體現，偌大的浴缸、24k金的水龍頭，可在此細享真正郊野風味。可惜的是，這種露天風味只有夏日才能享用，其餘時間要用室內的盥洗室。但在露天浴室之外，設計師以小圓石構建了另一悠閒天地，讓主人在此閱讀或享受日光浴，以彌補戶外浴室的不足，另有一番風味。

"The owner's brief was very clear and we knew from start we could meet all the requirements given the space available under the three-storey size floor plan” says the designer. The structure of the house came basic with the spiral staircase so there was no need for the designers to make a big revamp of the house to achieve the client's objective.

It's a very floral looking home ranging from its selection of the wall paper to the overall patterns of the furniture to drapes and down to bedcovers. The three levels of almost the same size are neatly defined for each functional purpose. The ground floor is divided among the living and dining room, kitchen and outdoor garden, yet it does not feel cluttered having the four units combined. The dining area looks small but according to the plan, it's only meant for the breakfast use and the family prefers to dine out in the patio whenever weather permissible. The first floor is occupied by the owner's mother-in-law while the top floor is the master bedroom.

Describing it from top down, an intriguing design for the master bedroom is the outdoor bathroom in which it gives the true feel of being in countryside. The stand-alone and spacious bathtub and its 24 karat gold shower faucet just simply make bathing all the more enjoyable. The only drawback is that it can only used during summer; meanwhile the indoor bathroom is used for the rest of the time.

Outside the outdoor bathroom, the designer created an area to be there to unwind, read or sunbath. The floor is filled with a bed of pebbles and every bit of materials used was taken from natural woods, accentuated heavily of being in a barn.

Because of the particular emphasis of how the owner wanted his home to look, the designers had not only taken into consideration of using wood material for the custom-made furniture to create the natural look, the overall colors chosen for the house was as earthy as it could be.

One might think the overall impression of the design is visually busy, but it seems the owner could not be happier with the outcome. And most importantly, everyday he is looking forward to coming home where he can feel totally relaxed.

Step inside this three-storey willa in Yuen Long, and you feel like you have been transported to a cottage in Europe. There is a strong floral motif to the house, with wallpaper, curtains, furniture, soft furnishing and artwork featuring flowers of all kinds. Yet, the overall effect is harmonious, rather than too dazzling or complicated.

The ceilings are higher than in most Hong Kong apartments, so the owners installed chandeliers to evoke an air of grandeur. These work perfectly in tandem with the reproduction Renaissance paintings, and further strengthen the feel of old Europe.

The roof, however, is a completely different story. There is a sparkling white spa bath surrounded in contrasting dark wood platform and partitions. Beyond is a balcony complete with a lovely wooden swing where you can spend pleasant evenings sitting back and contemplating the stars.

In contrast to the house's old European style is a high tech, futuristic security system - a fingerprinter scanner. Anyone trying to enter the house must place their finger or thumb on the scanner, which will then identify the print and ascertain if you are authorized to enter.
