牆壁舖上由一位芬蘭設計師所設計的磁磚圖案，使客廳生色不少，成為客廳的焦點所在。

由於樓底比較高，故此屋主可以設置一盞大型吊燈以作照明和點綴之用。

三層連天台的屋形單位，不但能在間隔上做到區域分明，就連牆身的用色也替每個空間盡力表達出入住者的個人風格。屋主們除了喜歡簡約的中西合壁設計，也希望各處均有其獨特的主題，能獲得不少驚喜之餘，亦要耐看。

奪目中西
客廳逾二十呎的高樓底設計，是此單位的一大特色。不論是設置一盞大型吊燈，還是於電視組合櫃的牆壁舖上由一位芬蘭設計師所設計的磁磚圖案，皆沒有帶來壓迫感，反令客廳生色不少，瀰漫著現代氣色。中西合壁屬是次的室內設計主題，客廳的一幅紅色窗紗雖沒有明顯的圖案設計，卻表現出中國人喜愛紅色所顯衍生的喜慶寓意，淡淡的中國氣色在此時尚的客廳散播開來。當中最能表現中式味道的，應該是上層飯廳的檯椅。設計師為了能於中式與現代設計之間取得平衡，遂以黑色作開放式廚房的主調，時尚沉實，而且帶點酷味。

沉實之選
沉色系列，一向都是大部分家庭會替自己的主人房採用的牆色。好像此單位的主人房，設計師在這個白色的空間，運用了深咖啡色的油漆於床頭屏牆身上，不但突顯其highlight帶出的沉實氣氛，更與廳區的紅色設計營造強烈的對比效果，巧妙地製造「主客之分」的意思。為了加強一室的時尚風格，設計師於對面的牆壁選用石材，併切出一幅富有特色的圖案石牆，而浴室的入口正是隱藏在這片黑色之中。

大膽創色
年輕人總喜歡求變、大膽創新。屋主的子女便是其中的代表。女兒的職業與潮流有莫大的關係，所以在睡房髹上鮮紅色的油漆正能表達她對創新的要求。紅色不限於中式設計，它亦能表現在時尚的一面。由於房間的面積不算太大，故設計師就設計了一個開放式衣帽間，以一趟珠簾作分隔，女兒找衣服時也會特別方便。
相反，男孩子就比較喜歡酷味設計。設計師在兒子的睡房加設焗油的銀色地台，但為了避免感覺過於cyber，便在牆身髹上了一淡一鮮的青綠油漆，清新而充滿著點點生氣，撞色效果亦因此而衍生出來。

 設計師的話
牆身的用色必須視乎用者的年紀和品味，例如年輕人會喜歡較sharp的顏色，他們可以選用較cyber的代表銀色傢具配襯著鮮艷的牆色，感覺鮮明，能突出用者的性格，適合愛時尚的年輕一輩。當然，如果只想一室表現簡約舒適的感覺，便可以選用米色或杏色，再添置一些深色木傢具，好像胡桃木，沉實和諧。


書桌牆壁利用了紅、黑二色，營造強烈的對比效果。

只要在深咖啡色的牆身裝上兩盞壁燈，便能為主人房增添柔和氛圍。

Coloured paints can have a dramatic effect on your home's interior. As well as effecting mood, colour can be used to highlight or diminish architectural elements, create spatial illusions and even to tie different elements of your interior together. That’s exactly what the designer of this home in Rolling Hills did. With two teenagers living at home, this couple wanted a design that would be fun for the children but would allow them to incorporate their Asian furnishings in an East meets West environment.

Red in happiness
Red is a colour commonly used in Asian interior design where it represents happiness. Using red enabled the designer to easily combine modern furniture with the couple's more traditional Asian pieces. As well as the funky tiled feature wall that is of Finish design , red has been used in the floor to ceiling bookcase and the curtains and soft furnishings of the living room. A stairway with a glass banister leads to the second floor kitchen and dining area. The living room can clearly be seen from this open area so it was important that the two areas were tied together. The black and white kitchen has a red topped breakfast bar that ties in with the red used in the living room and black and white is bold enough to balance with red. The carved teakwood dining table is very Chinese in style bringing to bear the East meets West ethos.

Mature master bedroom
The bedrooms are located on the third floor and here the designer used colour to illustrate the family's different personalities. For the master bedroom a soft purple/brown gives the room an air of romance. A black stone feature wall hides the entrance to the en-suite bathroom and also lends a feeling of maturity to the room. The black tinted glass doors to the wardrobe are stylish and classy.

Acid green makes a bold statement
The son's bedroom is ultra modern with a raised platform floor in silver. The walls are painted two shades of green. Pale mint green blends well with the silver floor, while a sharp, acid green makes a bold, fun statement. The fitted wardrobes are white and silver and the black white and grey curtains with their bold pattern tie all the elements of the bedroom together.

Passionate red, exciting and vibrant
For the daughters bedroom passionate red and black create an exciting, vibrant atmosphere. Again the bed is on a raised platform that edges the room. Cupboards by the side of the bed match the platform design. The alcove wardrobe has a beaded curtain that creates a young funky vibe and also has the effect of making the room wider. Black shelves contract starkly against the red walls and a large blackboard is both functional and aesthetic.
