The owner is interested in collecting figures and toys. This is why he decided to renovated his apartment into an exhibition center by infusing his figures and toys as details after discussing with DIC designer. Also being a cat person, he managed to reverse a room for his cat during renovation.

The owner is also interested in audio equipments. Those equipments can occupy a lot of space. The designer has put this into consideration and managed to provide enough sense of space with extra vogue touch in the design by placing these audio equipments in the right spot.

Vogue details in the design

The apartment is mainly in white with black and grey as contrast. It presents a stylish elements in conjunction with the owner's collection.

The owner has mentioned that it is easier to spot the dirt by his cats and easier to clean under light colour tone.

The light colour tone can serve as a natural background for his figures and toys. It can also provide an cozy and warm touch with natural lighting from the windows.

The living room has clear partitions. A cultured stone wall in white is located behind the purple sofa in the leisure area. It is decorated with the owner’s favourite comic paintings. The cushions on the sofa are mainly inspired by comic figures. There is also a space for the cat to play and rest.

In addition to the huge display cabinet in the dining room, there is extra space on the TV and shoe cabinet for the owner to display his favorite figures and toys.

The windowsill is used for the cats to play and rest and it is used as laundry area as well.

The designer brings out every inch of the house.

The designer divides the corridor and the guest room with a floor-to-ceiling storage cabinet by removing one corridor walls. He also separated the master bedroom and the guest room with a large closet by removing the wall between the both which adds considerable storage of the house.

Flexible use of space

The master bedroom has the same simplistic design as in the living room. The platform provides extra storage space. The wooden pattern and the spotlight at the bottom of the staircase provides natural cozy atmosphere.

The headboard in royal blue is decorated with the puzzle inspired by the comic figures.

The owner said the previous owner has transformed the washroom in the master bedroom into a storage room. He decided to convert that area into a washroom again once after purchase.

As the other guest room has such a limited space, the owner did not want to install a platform as the one in the master bedroom. The designer managed to install a mirror surface white storage cabinet with desk, the glass bookshelf next to the cabinet has provided additional storage capacity.

The collection of the owner is placed above the headboards decorated with a puzzle on the wall.

The other room is mainly in white and black with a puzzle on the wall. There is also comic paintings next to it which presents the stylish and chic element in the design.

Renovation tip: How to choose the right renovation company

In accordance with the directives given by the Occupational Safety & Health Council, there are four things need to be considered when choosing the right renovation and interior design company.

The workers in charge of renovation works hold valid Green Card. Those responsible for elevated works on scaffolding must pass the Intermediate Trade Tests and has the experience not less than a year in elevated works on bamboo scaffolding.

As for the exterior wall renovation work, it must be supervised by qualified professionals other than providing qualified work platform and safety measures for workers. It can only be commenced after the qualified professionals has signed and issued the Form 5 Scaffolds.

The owner can purchase an appropriate insurance to mitigate the amount of compensation arising from the accident attributable to the owner.

It is advised to choose a renovation company from the OSH Star Enterprise list as those had gone through safety reviews and good records.
