It could be very challenging for the designer to balance the different preferences and habits of each member of a family of four in such a limited space. The family of this featured apartment always in love with simple countryside style. The designer began with resizing the partition to meet their needs. He then introduced British countryside element throughout the whole design layout with different colour tone in their rooms to create an place full of characters/p>


This apartment is located at Flourish Mansion in Mong Kok with a 3 bedrooms partition ranging around 600 square ft. The amount of beams in the standalone building are relatively higher than that of normal property. The apartment has a square design with clear separation in the living room and dining room. In conjunction with the high ceiling feature of 9 ft. tall, which renders the obvious attributes to each division with a relative open feeling of space. The washing machine fails to be located in the original narrow kitchen, so the designer combined two bathrooms into one to create extra space for the washing machine.


Cozy family room with colored threads throughout the house

The open kitchen is connected with the living room on the left of the entrance while the dining room on the right. The designer relocated the kitchen toward the living room by removing the previous wall and door to install the U-shape kitchen cabinet. The kitchen in white brings an organized and simplistic feeling. The glass sliding door is built between the living room and the kitchen as known as the position between the cabinet and the beam. This not only gives an open sight but also introduces some interesting elements throughout the whole design. The designer also created a family room in the living room after the partition renovation to serve as a space to relax. The family room is set up by elevated platform connecting to the media cabinet. The elevated platform in the living room not only provides additional storage capacity but also serve as the separation for living room, family room and dining room.

The living and dining room has a simple countryside style with white and khaki colours. The L-shape window introduces sunlight to the whole area. In conjunction with the wooden panel and flooring, the living and dining room present a warm touch. Coloured threads is found throughout the house and serve as decoration in the dining room, corridor and family room. The khaki paint on the lower half of the wall with white threads manage to create an elegant feeling.


Master bedroom with grace with the kids' rooms with animals

The designer used the closet to separate the master bedroom with the daughter’s room for extra storage space. The master bedroom in purple brings a feminine style with the bedside wall with lacquer-coating in lilac and the bedside panel with dark floral cloth along with the purple bed. The elevated platform has provided additional storage space. The bed at the windowsill is definitely making good use of every inch of the house. The daughter’s room is featured with countryside elements with the Sylvanian Families. The combo bed in the room has the upper bed with a closet underneath. Additional storage space can be found in the ceiling. The boy's room has the similar style as the living room in white and the closet is decorated with the dinosaur pattern as he is in love with it.


French romance at the corridor

It happens pretty often use the same material to simplify the interior design, especially in the case of lack of the broad TV back wall connecting to the corridor door. The TV back wall can be extended. The corridor door can be used as the theme wall as well. The corridor door links is connected to the storage cabinet instead of the TV back wall. It happens to face the family room.

The door is decorated with the Eiffel Tower pattern which serve as the featured wall when the family share their time in the family room.

The tall storage cabinet with white threads, the wooden-foot table with grey-glass surface timber rack and chairs and sofa in baby blue in the living room presents a unify design.

As the owners always want to have a semi-open kitchen, the designer created the semi-open kitchen by removing the wall and setting up the border of the kitchen with glass sliding door, kitchen cabinet and glass screen.

The little girl is in love with the Sylvanian Families. This is why red and brown colour is used in her room and the grid closet door also presents a countryside elements.

The loft bed in the son’s room has an upper bed with storage cabinet underneath. There are dinosaur patterns on the closet as he is in love with dinosaurs.

The master bedroom is mainly in purple. The elevated platform in the room also provides additional storage capacity.
