The aggregate of $ 6 million is a dream out of reach to many people in Hong Kong. A dream home is far beyond this budget. But some are willing to spend such money on interior design. This time, let the DIC designer show you Villa Castell to find out how the 6-million expense was spent.
Villa Castell is a complex project. There are a living room, a dining room, bedrooms, a storeroom and a balcony across three and half stories. There are three rooms, one maid bedroom, one garage and one garden in each residence. The practical area is 1,500 square ft.
The basic bright style overturns the shared concept of a luxury house thought in general. The house used to be in the dark tone, but the designer in pursuit of rendering a refreshing touch to the owner chose to renovate the house totally with the exterior walls newly painted and tubing of water, electricity and LNG, waterproof and leak-proof engineering, garden and furnishings fully renewed. More than that, the high-tech part included was estimated to hike the expense over $ 6 million.
One room is the kids' bedroom. A fiber optic starlight lamp is hidden on the ceiling. The designer built hundreds of troughs in diverse sizes able to change colors. This is definitely eye-catching to the kids. The handmade charge is high. The expense for repair and maintenance is high as well.
The window curtains with the electric slides made by the top maker are with a great shading effect free of manual operation.
The storeroom is a must to the luxury house for placing the expensive matters, so it is crucial to put a safety with the password lock inside it. The fine idea of the designer turns the basement into the storeroom. A chic storeroom for storage is built skillfully. Please do notice that each residence is equipped with the CCTV surveillance system and the intrusion detection system for advanced security.
The open kitchen as the top option for many small residences is pretty and useful. The L-shape cabinet available to storage of things and appliances is room-saving and practical.
The lounge is the key to the house. It is essential to place a TV apparatus fitted to the huge lounge. The designer skillfully hides the TV apparatus in one of the lockers. What to mention here is the maid bedroom next to the kitchen originally. Despite the tiny space, the owner chose to broaden the maid bedroom by converting part kitchen cabinets to the closet. The owner is truly nice.
Do you find the chandelier very eye-catching at the first sight? Despite the dazzling effect, the vast house cannot be lit solely by the chandelier for the rays unable to reach each part of the lounge, so the designer manages to make the soft or vivid mode optional by adding a trough here specifically. A reminder from the designer is that the core family residence is fitted to the trough to avoid the concern of the rays focusing on only one spot.
The owner has two kids and how to deal with the toys? It turns out to be a toy cabinet placed behind the TV wall. The toys after playtime can be contained inside the cabinet without going downstairs to the storeroom on purpose. This is for spaciousness and tidiness. It is a win-win situation.
From the designer, it is a must to make sure that each step has been well planned prior to renovation of a luxury house and tubing or cables shall be done step by step; otherwise, any link done wrong may make the whole process started over. This is not only time-wasting but also money-losing to the client, but the time spent on design and renovation prior to moving in the house may last over one year for the vast residence like this.
