Children’s room should not only be colorful but also playful and safe. This unit fodused on kids as the couples have two kids. Two children’s rooms have their own characteristics, one features animal and one features bus. It’s like an indoor playground. Designer highlighted safety and created a dream house for kids.
User’s age and use period are considered
Two children’s rooms we are talking about today have different styles. Boy’s room features cartoon bus, and cartoon lines are clear and stereo due to the baking paint designer applied. The other room features animal and was paved with wallpapers, so it looks soft despite multiple colors. Gloria from Design Information Center said that client has two kids, the oldest son adores bus, so in his room, designer arranged cartoon bus by bedside and even on desk door. The other room is for baby brother, since all kids like animals, so designer created an animal-themed room for him, and adopted wallpapers to create a gradual softness effect. So, when he grows up, it would be easy to tear down wallpapers and put on whatever he likes.Gloria expressed that when designing kid’s room, we should consider the use period, for example, if the room will serve till youth, then we should not apply too much cartoon. Clients do also wants their son to have a place to have fun, so chose cartoon bus theme, and will consider making different design when kid grows up. The other room is for baby boy, so there is no desk, just some animal enclosure, actually crib car, by bedside, which is cute and safe.
Children’s room was turned into a playful traffic city, which little boy adores.
Children bed boards and bed drawings are green just like a green grassland. Headboard is of arc shape to avoid sharp angle.
Crib rails are close enough to prevent baby’s head get stuck in between, and also are high enough to prevent it from climbing out.
Colorful animal wall stickers were applied to closet. The shelf bed was designed into white clouds and the room suddenly transfers into a forest.
Traffic lights stickers were applied to walls. The whole bed is of arc shape, which is beautiful and safe.
Baking paint was applied to desk to make cartoon stand out, so it looks like the cartoon bus is coming out.
Given enough ceiling height, aircraft light that hangs down was adopted.
Activity space is increased
Client likes simple wood materials and white color for dining room and living room. In order to increase space, designer arranged an L-shaped combine-unit by walls, and even designed a movable dining table in such unit. With movable track, it’s easy to push it to the other side if not used, so the half table could be concealed to clear a space for kids’ playing. Wall cupboard combinations were adopted. Cupboard surface is made of glass, because glass could expand space visually. In the living room, just some necessary furniture was arranged, including sofa and TV cabinet, so there could be more room for kids playing around.
Rectangle dining table has its one end connected with combine-unit rail and can move flexibly.
Dining room is simply designed with dark brown wood and white wood.
Living room and porch corridor are earth tone and arranged with white articles.
Kitchen beside porch adopts sliding door.
