What will you think of when it comes to security work? In the old days, people tends to picture securities are working on the site, some of them are patrolling and some of them are watching surveillance video, however, today’s security work is usually handled by human with high involvment of hi-tech assistance. Science fiction elements were adopted in the design of this security office to reflect the situation.

Unexpected Design

Walking into this ordinary factory building, stepping into elevator and pressing the level button, you are in a steady mood wondering what kind of design project this might be. Few minutes later, elevator door opened, and the second you raise your head, you will be surprised if you walk into a wrong place, it’s like an outer space with spacecraft hatch right in front of you. When you look at it carefully, you might notice that all of these are of designer’s skillful arrangement, and the purpose is to leave visitors deep impression. Those who have never been into this place may already guess this is an office relating to science and technology.

This turned out to be an intelligent security monitoring center that works 24 hours a day and serve as surveillance system and related equipment showroom. The outer space concept is highlighted by the spacecraft. When the door is opened, spacious exhibition area covered with 3D-cosmic-star-parttered carpet will come into view, it looks real and stereo, and if you take a step inside, you will get the feeling that you are in the outer space. Security products installed on walls are connected by lines which are like satellite if seen from a distance. It’s full of science fiction elements.

The intelligent security monitoring center has exhibition area in the front and glass house in the middle to serve as showroom for featured products.

The lobby walls were paved with cosmic wallpapers and entrance door is designed as spacecraft hatch to give visitors a science-fiction feeling the second they step out of the elevator.

To make it more like a spacecraft, designer adopted blue space paper as background and laid star-pattern carpet on the ground.

Real Design

Now let’s move to the other part of the monitoring center. Here is like a command headquarters of spacecraft. Walls were installed with huge arc screen to show the site situations of each monitor point in real time. Beside it is data room that contains spacecraft window cover, rounded room, boarding ladder and other details to eco with overall design. Related workers are sitting in front of screen monitoring security work remotely. The work table is wave-shaped to go with screen lines and also to extend vision.

To make it more like a spacecraft, light and shade is the key. Taking this case for example, exhibition area has automatic footstep sensing lamps and some parts have hidden lamp tubes, so the lights will make you feel you are walking in midair. To eco with gray and black tone, designer applied well-known sci-fi movie characters and props to create fun, for example, storm trooper model is arranged to welcome visitors, and robots and spaceships are breaking through the wall, all of which make the room no longer tedious.

Since spacecraft has a command set for captain to control the overall situation, designer especially elevated monitoring center platform to enable related persons to master overall operation.

Arch screen extends vision and goes perfectly with surrounding walls, and therefore, work table is designed wave-shaped.

To skillfully display spaceship arrangement, walls were designed inclined, and data room was painted dark gray to create metal texture.

Danger, spaceship is flying close! Don’t worry, these are just models built into walls.

Glass windows were decorated with cosmograd-pattern window stickers which are exceptionally bright and clear under light.

If you look carefully, walls behind robots were installed with small lights which are like twinkling stars when turned on.

How could there be no moon if there’re stars. The walls of stars are installed with moon-shaped lamps to enhance 3D effect.
