When it comes to an ideal living space for the couple, people always think about a wide and comfortable living space with great lighting and color arrangement. However, the designer has bold new ideas this time by applying mass amount of black materials in designing the living space. Without any suppressed feeling, the creative interior design has brought out a personalized living style.
Before…
1. Living Room
Since there is no ideal partition between the living room and the bedroom originally, the property owner requires a rearrangement so that the working space and resting space can be separated from each other.
2. Living Room
With limited residential unit, the property owner requires an increased storage space without adding further suppressive feelings, which is a common problem faced by several households throughout the Hong Kong District.
3. Master Bedroom
Since the solid door occupies too much space every time it is opened or closed, it is replaced by a sliding door to spare some more spaces for the creative interior design.
Part of the bedroom is transformed into a side room which connects to the living room. By setting up a transparent black glass between the side room and the living room, a translucent and penetrating visual effect is created to provide the side room with a touch of privacy.
A storage cabinet is installed at the living room with the upper half displaying objects and the lower half storing shoes. Enough space is spared right next to the storage cabinet so that the property owners can change their shoes comfortably before they go out.
If there is no guest at home on regular days, the two sliding doors can be left opened so that the master bedroom is connected to the living room.

If there is visitor at home or if the situation requires it, one of the sliding doors can be easily closed to create a private space.
Aside from black materials, some white and light colored materials are applied to create color contrast. For example, khaki colored materials are applied to the kitchen wall to add a special touch to the interior design.

1. Multifunctional Room & Open Kitchen
Upon stepping into the front door, the sliding door and storage cabinet are installed to create a multifunctional room. In addition, an open kitchen is also designed to make a connection between the old drawing room and the living room. A transparent black glass is set up to create a side room so that overall space does not appear to be small in size despite the installment of multifunctional room.
2. Cabinet Wall & Bedroom Platform
To arrange enough storage space for the house, storage cabinet is used to separate multifunctional room from the living room. In addition, an interior platform is also established in the master bedroom, so that the space underneath the platform can be applied as a storage area. By adding a sliding door right outside the interior platform, the condition of excessive cabinet and reduced activity space can be fully avoided.
3. Sliding Door is installed to Save Space
After replacing solid door with sliding door, space right outside the sliding door can be saved for other purpose. Since the master bedroom has a door space with a shape of the alphabet “L”, two sliding doors are required on both sides of the door space.

Dark surface materials are applied to the bathroom sliding door and the corridor wall right next to the front door. With some simple decorations, a playful visual effect is generated.
By paving some soft cushion on the windowsill, the guest could seat down and listen to the property owner’s live piano performance.
Some irregular display shelves are installed right above the piano to exhibit the property owner’s favorite items.

A wall cabinet is installed right next to the bedroom door to provide enough storage space. The white cabinet door greatly matches with the ceiling and wall in color.
