For a family with elders and youth, it is not easy to satisfy to meet both the needs of two generations. The design concept stress on creating a cozy home for both the house owner couples and the elders. The hall is decorated with a number of mirrors, and coordinated with black, white and gray tones to signify a living space for the elders, and yet it is also presented in style.

The elongated living room and dining room are decorated with a number of mirrors to create a sense of brightness and transparency feeling


The house is located at Tai Wai Festival City with a saleable area of about 680 square feet and a layout of 3 bedrooms and 2 living rooms. Based on the above elements, the designer has specifically created this unit to meet with the elders’ preferences in matching colors of black, white and gray, and the couples’ great interested on a bright feeling brought by the mirrors.

“A number of corners in the dining room are constructed in mirrors, such as a large wall at the dining room. It gives not only a broader space, but can also reflect the natural light from the living room windows into the dining room to illuminate the entire hall. As the house owner owns several beloved flower vases, so the position adjacent to the TV wall in the living room is installed with a highly transparent mirror cabinet to link up the whole design concept.”, Wing Lau, the interior designer.

Elevated floor doubles as a storage space

The 3 bedrooms have retained their original layouts, including the presence of a windowsill. To make room for more space, both the windowsills in the master bedroom and elder bedroom are partially set with a bed. Meanwhile, the beds are placed on an elevated floor to increase the storage capacity. For the house owner couples who like traveling, the extra space is ideal to store suitcases and other large objects, as well as creating a layering effect to the room.



To increase the storage capacity, the vestibule wall is embedded with a shoe cabinet to make good use of space

The windowsill of the master bedroom is partially set with a bed to spare sufficient space to accommodate an additional large wardrobe
